BEEF STEW, Filipino Dish

(8-10 SERVINGS)

INGREDIENTS:

* 1 kilo beef, stripped at least 1½ inches

* ½ kilo Bacon, tidbits

* 5 gloves of garlic, finely minced

* 1 whole Onion, sliced into strip

* 2 pieces Bellpepper, halved, seeded, cleaned and stripped

* 5 pieces Potatoes, skinned, slice or divide each whole into 6 pieaces

* ½ cup tomatoe paste

* 3 pieces Carrots, skinned, smallcubed

* 2 pieces Laurel leaves

* 1 1/2 measuring cup of water

PROCEDURE:

*Marinate first the beef into seasoning mix or liquid by soaking in the marinade to enhance the flavor. Set aside.

*Fry bacon and set aside.

* In the same frying pan, saute the garlic togethere with the onion.

* Add the beef into the frying pan together with the potatoes and then toss it with tomatoe paste to enhance the color of red.

*Stir the mixture about 5 minutes.

*Add water if it is necessary, put laurel leaves, pinch of salt to taste.

*Springkle the mixture with seasons or spices to enhance the flavor.

*Boil it until the beef has softened or already cooked.

*When beef is already cook, put the pepper and carrots on the mixture.

*Cook for about 10 minutes, sprinkle or decorates with bacon on top.

*Serve while still hot.

MORE TIPS:

*You can add more seasoning mix or spices to enhance the flavor.

*You can also add black ground pepper if you want it to be more spicy..
